For Leon County, administered through Leon County Public Works, Arris is building interpretive stops at 30 sites along the 220-mile Big Bend Scenic Byway, which runs from Tallahassee through the Apalachicola National Forest and the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge to the coastal communities of Wakulla and Franklin counties. The work includes 8 portal kiosks, 19 wayside exhibits, portal signs, nearly 60 interpretive panels and more than 60 approach markers, coordinated with nine site owners, from federal and state land managers to county and city governments.
Construction is under way. We’ll add photos as the sites are completed.
